The first owner of the brand Hawk-Eye was the Boston Camera Company. In 1890, it bought the Blair Camera Company, and in 1907 he bought Eastman Kodak Blair. Kodak Camera Blair created the department and moved it to Rochester, NY. There still cameras manufactured under the brand Hawk-Eyes, but they usually were distributed as bonuses and were not published in catalogs. Some models are primarily designed for the English market were manufactured in the UK in the years 1927-1939. Under the brand Hawkette 2 also manufactured the first plastic Kodak camera. In later models, the brand was removed from the dash and so the brand changed to Hawkeye.
Portrait Hawkeye Model no 2 was produced in 1930 in the UK. He was not a very expensive camera and probably not too many of them manufactured. The camera has a cardboard cover covered with black imitation leather wallpaper, but the bar at the top is made of genuine leather (unfortunately, no longer exhibit there). Inside the body is a simple construction of the timber front wall, on which is mounted a simple lens and shutter and tin lead frame ensuring the film. The front cover is fixed with nails!! And what amazes me, inside I found the s / n!
The camera is designed for roll film type 120 and allows you to perform 8 images 60x90mm size. The camera is equipped with two prism viewfinders. One provides a view from the top, and the other from the right side of the camera.
Used a simple type of meniscus lens. An advertisement for the Kodak 120 or Verichrome film was placed inside.

No 2 Portrait Hawkeye s / n H607. Shutter a bit stuck, no handle-bar, required cleaning. The camera was purchased for 45PLN.
