Kiev-4AM (Киев-4AM) is a 35mm rangefinder film camera manufactured by Arsenal Factory, in Kiev, Ukraine, former USSR. They were manufactured in the years 1976-87.
The first models of rangefinder Kiev 2 cameras were produced in years from 1947 to 1957, while the latest models, that is, Kiev 4M and 4AM (with built- selenium photo-electric exposure meter) in the years 1980 to 1987). Cameras Kiev was built based on German’s Contax camera Contax II and Contax III (with built-in photo-electric exposure meter) produced since 1936.
Kiev 4M and Kiev 4AM was produced from 1976 to 1987 in three versions and five subtypes and it is modernized version of Kiev-4A.
The camera of solid construction and quite heavy (weight of Kiev 4M is equal 0.77kg).
The camera is equipped with a focal plane shutter with metal curtains vertically traveling and settings the “B” and 1/2, 1/5; 1/10, 1/25, 1/50; 1/125, 1/250, 1/500; 1/1000 sec. It is equipment with a rangefinder, self-timer, crank to scroll back a film and both the flash sync socket and flash shoe.
It was sold with lenses:
- Jupiter-8M 50mm f / 2, or
- Helios-103 53mm f/1.8

The camera was purchased for 65 PLN . Self-timer doesn’t work for a long time settings, and the rest is operational. Body and Lens are in good condition.
