Praktica Nova produced in the years 1964 to 1967. The design was based on Prakticy IV and V, that is, the first models Prakticy pentaprism. Constructor of the camera was Herbert Welzel. Praktica Nova already had the levers pull the film moved quickly from the bottom of the body on its top. Shutter release button has been moved to the front of the body, this function is taken from the Contax S-Zeiss Ikon. Praktica Nova – version B had a built-in selenium light meter.
The camera is equipped with a horizontal slit shutter, controlled mechanically with rubber curtain and switch for the the speed of fast and slow times. Shutter: B, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/30, 1/60, 1/125, 1/250, 1/500. Shutter of this type was also used in older models Praktica.

I bought the camera in the 70’s for quite big money, and used until the end of the last century …. currently, the aperture stutters in the lens (I replaced the lens, it could not be corrected) and a broken frame counter.
